“The seeds that gardeners hold in their hands at planting time are living links in an unbroken chain reaching back into antiquity. Today’s gardeners cannot possibly comprehend the amount of history contained in their seeds, both what has come before and what may potentially come after their brief involvement. Whenever gardeners begin to save their own seeds, they also become part of this ancient tradition.”
—From “Seed to Seed” by Susan Ashworth
Join us for a seed saving workshop on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 9-noon. at the CSG at Genesis Farm. We will spend the time collecting seed from the field for use in the 2019 season, processing kale seed, and tomato seed to name a few. There will be plenty of time for discussion. You will leave with enthusiasm and confidence to practice seed saving on your own. No experience is necessary!
The cost of the workshop is $15 for CSG members and $20 for non-members. The workshop is appropriate for adults ( and children over 7). Please register early by emailing csgardeninfo@gmail.com or calling 908-362-7486 since space is limited.
